Gartan OEC provides the highest standard of instruction available. Our highly qualified and experienced staff provide training programmes for other sailing schools and instructors in Donegal and throughout Ireland.

Sea kayaking introductory sessions and sea kayak coastal trips are available, again with highly experienced and qualified instructors.

You’ll really develop your skills and knowledge on our courses, while having a whole heap of fun!

During the summer months Gartan runs a Sailing and Windsurfing School at Downings Beach (Rosapenna Co) on Sheephaven bay. Gartan OEC is an approved Training Centre for the Irish Sailing Association, and all courses run according to ISA guidelines. We also offer windsurfing rentals and sailing rentals.
During the winter we will be running intermediate and advanced wave courses at different locations, including Downings, Magheroarty, Marble Hill.
Irish Sailing Association accredited courses run each morning, from Monday to Friday. Further tuition and equipment hire is available each weekday afternoon.

	On our Downings courses, those 10 – 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or responsible person. Those 10 years of age and upwards are very welcome. Saturday and weekend courses are particularly suited to adults.All dinghies, boards and associated specialist equipment will be provided. Personal buoyancy aids may be used at discretion of the Gartan Staff.

Advance booking and prepayment for morning and scheduled courses is essential. These should be booked through the Centre by phone or email. Credit Card payments may be made directly with the Centre.Gartan Lough Outdoors is an Irish Sailing Association approved Training Centre. All course participants will be able to avail of the modular award structure of the ISA, and will be provided with the appropriate logbook. Downings Beach Camp

These non residential camps provide first class tuition to take participants to a very competent standard of ability in windsurfing OR sailing.Further beach based activity – kayaking, surfing, orienteering, sea shore exploration and coasteering – make these hugely rewarding and fun courses. Participants should achieve an appropriate Irish Sailing Association skills certificate after attendance at all 5 days of their chosen course. For further details download an information flyer here.
